Today we had our first real, paying customers! And on the Turku tour, too! Needless to say that we’re very, very, very excited! They were a really nice Australian couple, who had some extra time in Finland, while waiting for their tour of Russia to start. Actually, the gent reminded me of Stuart’s dad, so it was quite fun chatting away with him.
I must admit that we were quite nervous before the start of the tour. It’s one thing to do the tour with your friends, and quite different to do it with strangers, who expect to be entertained. But it went really well! They had a really cool time, and loved our Archipelago lunch place (as I had thought)!
Note to self: alcohol is a topic that interests virtually anyone, age no obstacle.
Some minor things did, of course, go wrong. Stuart missed our turn after Fiskars, but the customers never knew. He managed to get us back on the right road a couple of minutes later, and the scenery was possibly even better, as we went through a pretty, little village. Stuart later claimed that I was to blame, since he was too busy listening to me talking about the King’s Road to watch where he was going.
I don’t think so!
I also recommended a cycling holiday in Åland islands to the customers, only to release later that they might not have been quite in the right age group. Oops.
But, all in all, it went well. What a relief!
Great stuff – congrats with your company and great to see this sort of entrepreneurship on these latitudes as well
All the best!
